Wrapping Paper

The Trevor Project will make wrapping paper to help LGBTQ+ express their individuality and encourage self-acceptance. The paper will be reversible. On one side it will be traditional heteronormative holiday symbols such as a gingerbread man and wife. The other side will be an LGBTQ+ version, for example two gingerbread men holding hands. The person wrapping the gift can decide which side they use.

#HolidayfromHell Twitter

The Trevor Project will start a Twitter thread during December to encourage members of the LBGTQ+ community to share their family reunion horror stories. To participate the person will use the hashtag “#HolidayfromHell” to share the most embarrassing and notorious experiences they’ve had with family members over the holiday season.

Holiday Confessions Booth

Confession booths will be set up at airports and train stations to help alleviate young LGBTQ+ members anxieties about going home for the holidays. The person will enter the booth and have the opportunity to talk to an anonymous counselor from the Trevor Project on the other line.

Celebrate the Rainbow Posters

These posters will be placed in public transportation locations such as airports, buses, and train stations. They are redesigns of classic holiday icons to promote a more inclusive holiday season. The tag “Celebrate the Rainbow” accompanies a simple image to highlight the simplicity of inclusivity.
